Open-day at Army Cheng-Gong camp with various activities

(reported by journalist Cho, Yi-Li from Military News Agency on September 2nd in Taichung) Army presented the theme “Life is better with camouflage” to hold a series of activities, including open-day at Army Cheng-Gong camp. Given helicopter show, sky divers, combat performance of the special force, and joint exercise of different units, they all impressed people with robust ability of the Army.

Considering the features of Army, the performance first launched the helicopters to demonstrate the formation and air assault of Apache.

The following were sky divers in two groups. As CH-47 helicopters flew at 5000 feet in the sky, first group of divers bringing national flag, color flags and ribbons exercised spot landing while the second group of divers performed “fan-shaped” and “shoulder-stepping” with their perfect teamwork to land at the site.

Afterwards, the special force presented hand-to-hand combat performance and engineering squad showed the ability of bridging, dynamic shooting, occupying artillery posts, and joint shooting which revealed the results of soldier’s daily training.

During the activities, the marching band of Taichung First Girl High-school, Drum Band of Army academy, and the lion dance of National Taiwan Sport University were all invited to shape the day.

For indoor exhibition, there were 17 sorts, 17 categories of combat equipment including AH-64E, 8 sorts, 14 categories of equipment of disaster prevention, discharged equipment at Military Park, and recruiting stalls with simulating shooting experience and historical material. Hoped people whoever attended would understand and support national defense.
