(reported by journalist Li, Yi-Hao from Military News Agency on March 12th in Kaohsiung) The 2019 Dunmu Voyage Training Detachment of Navy officially commenced training today, and lieutenant-general Lee, commander of the R.O.C. Naval Fleet Command, encouraged soldiers and officers of the detachment to uphold their pride and sense of calling to complete the voyage training in order to achieve the missions of establishing friendly diplomatic relations and comfort overseas countrymen.
The ceremony was hosted at the Zuoying Naval Base today morning, where commander Lee personally inspected mission ships including Panshi, Wuchang, and Tiandan, as well as detachment staffs including the Army Honor of Guard; Lee also recognized and praised the high morale and magnificent military discipline manifested by the soldier and officers.
Commander Lee emphasized the principle of “Country and Navy in Our hearts” during his oration, and also encouraged soldiers and officers to uphold the attitude of protecting national image and striving honor for the Navy when implementing the Dunmu voyage training so as to demonstrate the excellent training results of the Republic of China Navy.
Commander Lee prioritizes on mission safety, and he particularly reminded all soldiers and officers to emphasize on the safety of voyage, personnel, and assets, as well as implement various inspections and preparations in order to facilitate a smooth completion of the mission with adequate preparation.
The Dunmu Voyage Training Detachment will begin its domestic voyage training around the island from the 15th March, and will be docking at locations including Xinbin Habor of Kaohsiung, Anping Harbor of Tainan, Dinghai Camp of Magong, Port of Taichung, Weihai Camp of Keelung, Zhongzheng Camp of Su’ao, and Port of Hualien; all citizens are welcome to visit and board the detachment.
