(reported by journalist Chen, Chien-Hsing from Military News Agency on May 28th in Changhua) The Air Force Command Headquarters implemented fighter aircraft landing and take off exercise as well as replenishment drills today at the Changhua highway strip of the National Highway No.1. After the order of coordinated combat and support was given by the Republic of China Armed Forces Joint Operations Command Center, unmanned aerial vehicle Cardinal of the Marine Corps and the OH-58D helicopter of the Army implemented battlefield reconnaissance, whereas the AH-1W helicopter served as the airborne warning system, and the CH-47SD helicopter supported the replenishment of aviation materials, which successfully completed the fuel and ammunition replenishment for aircrafts including F-16V, IDF, M2000-5, and E-2K, exerting the joint combat efficacy between the Armed Forces.
The Air Force Command Headquarters emphasized that this drill was implemented based on the close cooperation between units including Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Freeway Bureau, and National Police Agency, where the synergy between the military and the public was manifested, and the energy of national defensive mobilization was fully exerted. Furthermore, through the strategic communication mechanism, citizens were able to understand the Armed Forces’ diligent and refined training, as well as their determination of self defense, which agglomerated the public national defense awareness of “public concern, public support, public participation”, and achieved the hand-on exercise target of highway strip landing and take off. The Air Force expresses its gratitude to the public’s understanding and support for the inconvenience during the exercise period, as well as the co-maintenance of national security.
